Alexander D. Marek, RICP ®

Alexander Marek is a Founding Partner of Ironwood Wealth Management and plays a key role in guiding the firm’s overall direction. As Chief Compliance Officer, he ensures Ironwood consistently meets all legal and regulatory standards while maintaining the highest level of ethical integrity. In his role as Senior Wealth Advisor, Alex builds and manages relationships with high-net-worth individuals, providing comprehensive financial planning tailored to their unique goals.

With more than 28 years of experience in the financial services industry, Alex brings deep expertise in retirement income planning, tax-efficient strategies, and investment management. His work is centered on designing long-term, goal-based plans that help clients achieve financial clarity and peace of mind. He began his career at a commission-based firm, but his desire to offer transparent, objective advice led him to co-found Ironwood as a fee-only fiduciary firm. This shift allowed him to create an environment where clients come first and every recommendation is made with their best interests in mind.

Alex is a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, a designation he earned through The American College of Financial Services. He is also an active member of the Financial Services Institute, an advocacy organization that promotes investor access to independent, affordable advice. His early career achievements include consistent recognition by North Star Resource Group’s Chairman’s Club and the Top Producer of the Year Award from NEXT Financial Group.

Originally from Glastonbury, Connecticut, Alex was inspired to pursue a career in finance by his mother, who was an executive in the financial services industry. Today, his passion lies in building meaningful, long-term relationships with clients and helping them navigate life’s financial complexities with confidence. He also enjoys incorporating charitable giving strategies into his planning process to support causes that matter deeply to the individuals and families he serves.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife Corinne and their two children, Olivia and Griffin. His weekends are often filled with basketball games, theatre productions, and family adventures. He has a passion for cooking, especially barbecue, and has even competed in BBQ festivals. Be sure to ask him about his award worthy baby back ribs! Alex is also a seasoned road-tripper, having made the drive between Arizona and Massachusetts five times. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at New Way Academy, a nonprofit school for children with learning differences, and is an active member of its Finance Committee.
